Does anyone have any good quotes or sales motivation to get spirits up in my team?
There is noting better then being positive, noting !!! Tell your people there doing not good but a great job if they need help in area’s of there work tell them positive things about them self’s or how it worked for you in that positions. Sometime people or not made for a certain job. In sales being positive shows in you and your work, being non positive also shows, more. If the spirits in your team are do maybe someone is making this way, something quotes will not work on.

    Good Luck and Have fun!

of course you will need to speak to your individuals as people are motivated or turned-on by different things. some people like Randy above just will not want to play and will be happy being grumpy :(

I have worked for many years as a motivational and performance coach in a call centre for a well known global telecommunications company. My advisors carry a very high sales target and sometimes lack motivation. I find that if you are upbeat and on top of your game you are better equipped to counter any negativity within the team. Not for one second would i suggest reeling off quotes to people as this would be hugely counter productive. BUT the play on words and the thought these quotes provoke are evocative...when you coach one-to-one you may find certain quotes play on your mind, and you may want to share these with individuals.

Sorry, life doesn't work like that. Business and self help lingo is all crap so just stay away from it. It won't motivate anyone or make people want to work for you. It will just make you sound patronising.

Why not tell them to do their best.

Your right to an extent. I've worked as a Manager for a major high street chain and read a load of books on the subject (fish included) and realise that it's useless junk designed for people who over think simple situations. Be honest and decent to your staff and they will do good for you.

Patronise them with 'motivational' catchphrases and they will think your nuts. The only people who get them are the people who think they are useful (i.e you) not the people who you intend them for.
