Steeler Nation Trademark gives back to children with severe mental retardation.
This post is not related to direct sales today, but I believe that you will find it of interest to everyone. Since the Super Bowl, many people are still asking me what is a “Terrible Towel”? You can see them waving in any Steeler game no matter where they are playing.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, and my father was a huge sports fan. Being the oldest, he taught me all about every sport as a very young girl. I can remember going to Forbes Field ( no longer in existence) and filling out the score card as I watched the Pittsburgh Pirates play with my father.
He was also a season ticket holder for 50 years and was on the Board of Directors for the Allegheny Club in the old Three Rivers Stadium until he died in 1999. His block of ten season tickets were passed on to my family. So I have many fond memories of the Steeler games.
Myron Cope was a radio announcer in Pittsburgh for many years and had a unique personality. What you don’t know the wonderful story behind the Terrible Towel that he created.
